My FIRST Birth Story (I have 4!)

Trusting my gut has saved me unnecessary anguish numerous times in my life.  One of those times just happens to be one of the best days of my life, the day I gave birth to my precious first baby.

I labored for 30 hours without much progress.  “The baby is really high up” was said to me no less than 20 times over that 30 hours.  My gut said “ask for an ultrasound, something isn’t right.” After a few rolled-eyes (and, the mind reader in me knew they were thinking ”Oy, another know-it-all nervous-nelly”) they gave-in and did the ultrasound.  Sure enough there was a problem…my baby was folded like a taco shell, breech!  Within an hour I was prepped for a C-section.

I was disappointed that my first birth wasn’t how I dreamt it to be but so grateful for that little gut feeling that quite possibly could have been the difference in giving me my perfectly healthy baby girl.
